LONG TERM CARE INSURANCE
Long term care insurance is much like it sounds - insurance for long term care. This type of insurance is designed to provide coverage for people living in assisted living, nursing homes, in their own home, or with family. When people age, they often need additional medical care. With long term care insurance, they would receive the type of treatment needed.

LONG TERM CARE
Long term care refers to care provided to a person that has a chronic illness, injury, or disability. Typically, you think of long term care as being associated with the elderly, which many times it is. However, long term is a broad term that can relate to any age person requiring long term care. Additionally, long term care is not just a nursing home but could also relate to an assisted living facility, custodial care, hospice, adult daycare, respite care, intermediate care, home healthcare, and so on. While many people immediately think that long term care refers to hospital care, it does not. You would also include things such as palliative care, supervision, therapeutic, social services, and rehabilitative in the “long term care” category.

MEDICAL ALARMS
Most people have seen the commercial of the elderly woman that falls down and says, “Help me – I’ve fallen and I can’t get up”. While it may seem like a silly commercial to some, this commercial depicts a real scenario that happens to hundreds of people every day. The commercial then goes on to explain that if this woman had been using a medical alert or alarm system, she could have reached out for help. While many people use medical alarms for different reasons, the bottom line is they do work.
