Fundraising is a huge business and a very, needed business.  Consider the recent Tsunami disaster and all the devastation caused.  Many non-profit organizations have the funds to bring aid to the people because of donations and fundraisers.  In addition to fundraising on a grand scale, this is something performed by small companies as well. 

Donations can be just about anything and for that reason many people around the world give donations.  As an example, you could give clothing or household items to your local Salvation Army, Disabled Veterans, or Federation of the Blind, offer an old automobile to an organization that teaches students how to work on cars, you could donate blood at your local blood bank, or you might donate money to a number of excellent charitable organizations such as St. Jude’s Hospital or Make a Wish Foundation.
